The Corazón family resource center remains open (virtually)

March 21, 2020
The Corazón family resource center remains open (virtually) to assist those in need. Our bilingual staff can assist with filling out online applications for unemployment benefits or accessing local resources such as free food distribution in partnership with Redwood Empire Food Bank. Corazón is re-opening the Unity and Community Fund to assist those who need financial assistance and we welcome donations online by visiting corazonhealdsburg.org/donate. Pending the response from donors, the application will be open to those in need by April 1. Corazón will be purchasing and distributing gift cards with these donated funds and are looking for local businesses who offer a gift card option that would work under these circumstances. Local businesses that we partnered with during Kincade fire relief are: Jerry’s Valero, Big John’s Market, and Lola’s Market (as well as generic Visa cards that can be used anywhere). Please email Ariel Kelley at ariel@corazonhealdsburg.org if you would like your local business to be considered for the gift card purchasing program. We ask that all gift card programs be able to accommodate no less than $5,000 in bulk gift card purchases and that the businesses supply a need during the pandemic.

Corazón will be hosting a "Drive Thru" Groceries to Go pick up on Tuesday 3/24 at 11am at the Healdsburg Community Center, 1557 Healdsburg Avenue. This program is in partnership with Redwood Empire Food Bank, the City of Healdsburg and other local non profits. Due to the social distancing order, this will be a "Drive Thru" program, where those seeking groceries will not be getting out of their cars. We will also offer a walk-up option for those without transportation. People are welcome to pick up for others and seniors who are home bound due to illness or medical issues can call us to schedule a delivery. There is no income or residency requirement to access these groceries.
