Name: Opening Reception "Of Sand And Water" by Carlos Gomez Mojica
Date: July 20, 2018
Time: 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM PDT
Website: RSVP
Event Description:

What is the true function of our exterior, that is, of our skin?
What would happen if human beings looked more or less the same? What happens when in fact we can appear to be so different from each other?

The color of the skin is a factor that has divided societies since ancient times. Humanity has been immersed in the issue of discrimination, whether one is racist or being discriminated against. We do not even realize that  ignorance is the cause of this vile behavior?

The pigment in our skin has been such a powerful topic for me that I have taken it as the basis of my artistic career; I explore and use art to extract what overwhelms me, to say what I would not know otherwise, to question what my predecessors never asked.
