SYNOPSIS

Over the course of five years, the film presents Daniel Collins and Quincy Bryant, two young African American men from rural Hale County, Alabama. Collins attends college in a step to change his life while Bryant becomes a father to a spirited young boy in a film that tells their stories through the interstices of their lives. The audience is invited to experience the contradictory nature of the region's deep culture and a glimpse of the varying ways in which the African American community's collective image is integrated into America's own rendering.
