A bluesman to his bones, Mississippi-born Memphis-raised harmonica ace Charlie Musselwhite is a bona fide legend who soaked up Black music and culture first-hand from many of the tradition’s most influential artists. Beyond the musical style, he absorbed the lifestyle. “It’s an attitude,” Musselwhite says of playing the blues. “A way of living life.” He returns to town with a sensational band with June Core – drums, Randy Bermudes – bass guitar, and Chris “Kid” Andersen – guitar. Nominated three years in a row for the Blues Music Awards category “best soul blues female,” Terrie Odabi possesses a rare combination of power and finesse. But it’s the vivid shades of longing, ache, bliss, and passion she brings to the music that sets her apart from so many of her peers.
