Art Exhibit: The Poetic Landscape

April 26, 2026 RECEPTION: SATURDAY, APRIL 4, 2026, 3-5 pm: Join us to meet KAREN MILLER and PHYLLIS RAPP; celebrate the show and enjoy a poetry reading by featured guest, Linda Loveland Reid, gallery artist and published author. Be sure to take part in the Gallery?s free monthly drawing for a beautiful work by a Gallery artist. Refreshments will be served. Sonoma County artist, Karen Miller, presents The Poetic Landscape, pastel paintings that convey Miller?s personal experience in connecting with the intrinsic beauty of natural places. In these pieces, color, fluid shapes and rhythmic design combine to create an uplifting mood ? a true poetic interlude. Evoking a happy mood, ?Geyserville Sunflowers,? turning to the sun by nature, joyfully dance in its luminescence. By the river?s edge, concentric reflections conjure a calm sense of wellbeing in ?Fetch.? The viewer feels welcomed by a warm embrace entering a shaded secret spot in ?September Trellis.? Focused on local scenes, these works truly hone in on the stunning landscape out our doors. Miller remarked ? As I contemplate the very real places of beauty surrounding us, I try to express my painterly response in hopes it will engender recognition by the viewers.? Meet the artist: Miller will be hosting the Gallery on March 30, April 5 & 15 from 11am to 2:30 pm. The Stairway Smallworks Showcase features Phyllis Rapp?s Magic Moments, a collection of watercolors that create an atmosphere that is both introspective and magical. Familiar domestic scenes are transformed as humans interact with animals and birds in floral settings. In ?Silent Watcher? the red-headed young woman?s green eyes lock onto ours as she stares ahead, flanked by her avian companion. Experiencing these works is a like taking a mini-step on the wild side, an exciting and fun experience. Meet the artist: Rapp will be hosting the Gallery on March 30 and April 10 from 11am to 6 pm.
