Name: Art Exhibit: The Beauty of Stillness
Date: January 2, 2023 - January 29, 2023
Event Description:
Sonoma County artists, Luba Stolper, presents The Beauty of Stillness, a collection of classically painted still-life masterworks in oil. Traditionally trained, Stolper hones in on details and adheres to time tested and time-consuming processes that produce stunning life-like results. The cherries in “The Cloth” seem ripe for the taking; the magnificently rendered red cloth brings high drama to the piece. Whether it’s a simple composition of two cherries or a more complex mix of items, the chiaroscuro lighting sets a compelling and timeless scene. First attracted by the dramatic lighting, the viewer is then caught up in the amazing detail (which often includes a ladybug). “My work comes out of deep passion and constant dedication to my art, so it is such a pleasure when I can share this classical vision with the world,” said Stolper. Stolper was born and raised in a small village in Ukraine, where she enjoyed capturing her surroundings in drawings. She followed her passion for art by studying at the Fabric and Textile Design School (Berkeley), further studies with Charles Becker and masters Naomi Marino and Jay Blums. She has exhibited regionally and nationally. Meet the Artist: Stolper will be hosting the gallery: January 3 & 10 from 11am to 6pm
