Art Exhibit: My Furry Valentine

Upstairs Art Gallery offers a unique opportunity to help the Humane Society of Sonoma County and shop local during this season of love. Who doesn’t love a puppy? We spotlight animal inspired art, jewelry and crafts, offer pet portrait by commission, with a percentage of sales going to help this wonderful non-profit, dedicated to helping animals in our community. OPEN HOUSE ALL DAY SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 1 – 11AM to 6PM. Join Gallery artists and Humane Society volunteers at Upstairs Art Gallery in Healdsburg for a heartfelt Valentine celebration of our furred and feathered friends. Events will include two pet portrait demos by Gallery artists and the ever-popular puppy kissing booth. Refreshments will fuel the festivities. Twenty percent of all sales during the Open House will be donated to the Humane Society. My Furry Valentine, a monthlong exhibit featuring hearts and pet inspired artwork is a fundraiser for the Humane Society of Sonoma County. Window art works by Linda Barretta, Marsha Connell, Nancy Gray, Bev Haley, Karen Miller, Laura Roney, Carmen Sheldon, and Carolyn Wilson capture expressions and actions of these artists favorite pets. Haley’s grand-dog, “Arlo” and Roney’s “Puppy Play” are complemented by Barretta’s “Sunning Tabby,”Wilson’s “Molly” and Sheldon’s “Rocky Gets Fluffy.” Miller and Gray feature colorful chickens and Connell highlights horses and a cow. All beloved, these animals round out our lives. You can commission a portrait of your pet and help the Humane Society at the same time. For anyone commissioning a pet portrait during the month of February, the Gallery will donate twenty percent of the sale to the Humane Society. The Gallery will also be accepting monetary donations for the Humane Society for the entire month. “We want to make Valentines Day extra special this year by opening our hearts to our animal friends who bring such joy to our lives,” noted Gray.
