Name: 25th Anniversary of Upstairs Art Gallery
Date: June 25, 2022
Time: 11:00 AM - 6:00 PM PDT
Event Description:
All are invited to join our Gallery’s Silver Anniversary Celebration on June 25th. Meet the artists and toast the quarter century of artistic tradition. Upstairs Art Gallery is one of the oldest galleries in Healdsburg and was the first artist owned cooperative in Sonoma County. Food and wine will be served. “Customers really like knowing that they are meeting one of the artist/owners when they come up our stairs, and that their purchases are directly supporting local creatives.” says Carolyn Wilson, Gallery Manager.

Our Upstairs Art Gallery’s Silver Anniversary is a 25 Bonanza: 25 artists celebrate 25 years on the 25th of June, donating 25% to help the community. Gallery artists unite to fete the Gallery’s Silver Anniversary and present Celebrating Art, a collection of works expressing each artist’s celebratory inspiration. Twenty-five percent of the profits from art sales will go to Farm to Pantry, a Healdsburg non-profit dedicated to reducing hunger. Duskie Estes, Executive Director: "Farm to Pantry harvests produce on backyards and farms in Sonoma County and shares it with marginalized families. We are thrilled to be a part of the Upstairs Art Gallery’s Silver Anniversary Celebration. 25 artists, 25 years, and on June 25, 25% to Farm to Pantry! Artists and their appreciators, thank you for helping us connect our abundance with our need to make sure no one goes hungry and all have access to good food.”

Our fifteen partner artists each present their take on celebrating 25 years. Tapping into Sonoma’s rich natural beauty, plein air artists Linda Barretta, Beverly Bird, Nancy Gray, Karen Miller, Marsha Connell, Donna Schaffer present works Inspired by local vineyards, forests, and waterways. Willow Laland’s works are like opening a window on one’s own vineyard. Beth Failor adds classic figures to the mix. Ron Sumner’s watercolors of rustic barns conjure up bygone eras. Carolyn Wilson’s mixed media pieces are richly textured studies. Gail Morgan’s monotypes and Sally Cataldo’s mixed media works are vibrant and exciting abstract compositions. Laura Roney’s still life fruit are delicious. Tosya Shore’s watercolors bring us colorful slices of life. Jo Tobin-Charleston underscores the 25th anniversary theme with her jewelry offerings in silver.
